The short version
Provenza is not expensive by American standards and it is not cheap by Colombian ones. What makes it feel expensive to visitors is not the base price, it is the gap between the base price and what they get charged.
What things actually cost
A beer in a Provenza bar is 12,000 to 18,000 COP. A cocktail is 35,000 to 55,000. A bottle of aguardiente is 90,000 to 130,000. Dinner at a good restaurant on the strip, without wine, is 90,000 to 160,000 per person.

There are two mechanisms. The first is simple: a menu appears without prices, or a different menu appears. The second is structural: venues pay commissions to hosts, drivers and fixers for bringing foreigners through the door, and that cost comes back to you inside the bill.
This is why a recommendation from a driver or a hotel desk is almost never about where you would actually have the best night. It is about where the commission is.
How to not get caught
Ask for the price before you order, not after. Ask for the bill on the card machine. If a table is being arranged for you by someone, ask them directly whether they take a commission from the venue, and watch how they answer.
